We at UBIE are deeply impressed and energised to see - after so many years of persistent planning, preparation and fundraising - the public debut of the interactive exhibition "Wow! Basic Income"! The first module opened it's lion's mouth to the public at a conference in Switzerland and at the German Unity Day parade in Hamburg, the hometown of the project. What else is on our minds these days? Not only is Hamburg setting a good example of how to get passers-by interested in basic income, but UBI Lab Manchester has also set a creative example by using Monopoly as an eye-catcher. We're celebrating the success of the 16th International Basic Income Week. And we're getting ready for our next network meeting on 21 October, the UBIE Agora, where we'll be sharing two exciting campaign plans with you. Read on to find out more! | Yours unconditionally, The UBIE Core Group: Antonis, Maria, Alessandra, Dániel and Ulrich | UBIE Autumn 2023 Agora – Saturday, 21 October, 3-6 pm CEST | Our Agoras are regular online meetings to improve communication and coordination between working groups, individual members and national organisations that are part of the UBIE network. We listen to and discuss news from countries, initiatives and our working groups. Members and non-members alike are welcome to attend, we just ask that you register in advance. The next Agora will take place as a Zoom meeting on Saturday 21 October 2023 from 15:00 to 18:00 CEST. The main topics will be the launch of the UBIE campaign for the 2024 European Parliament elections, the state of preparations for the Mayors for Basic Income campaign and our study visit to Barcelona. | Collect UBI as you pass GO! Activists from UBI Labs Manchester set up their stalls at universities, libraries, shopping malls and in the city centre – catching people's attention with the well-known Monopoly game and asking them the question "is health or security more important to you?" Find out more | Barcelona Study Day Postponed The study visit for decision makers from European municipalities to Barcelona has been postponed to April 2024. The event will focus on opportunities for implementing local UBI experiments. Whom should we invite? We want to use this period of enhanced political awareness to bring UBI proposals into the public debate.
