Big arrests: Houston police said this morning that two suspects have been arrested in connection with the botched armed robbery that resulted in the shooting death of Everett Briscoe, an off-duty New Orleans police detective, and left one of his friends seriously injured. Tourism tumbles: The latest surge in COVID cases and the subsequent festival cancellations have done a number on airport bookings and hotel occupancy. Business writer Tony McAuley says the tourism industry is hoping that football and conventions later in the year will provide a bit of a rebound. Sweet sounds: The big music festivals for the fall have been canceled, but perhaps the music can still go on.
