| Marianne Crebassa & Fazıl Say | | Out 20 October. French mezzo-soprano Marianne Crebassa and Turkish pianist Fazıl Say share some tantalising musical secrets in these songs by Debussy, Ravel, Duparc, Fauré and Say himself. These intimate offerings include Debussy's descreetly erotic Trois Chansons de Bilitis and Ravel's sumptuous Shéhérazade, which Crebassa performed recently at her triumphant Proms debut. | |

| | Philippe Jaroussky
| | Out 6 October. For the first time, star countertenor Philippe Jaroussky brings his impeccable Handelian credentials to an entire album devoted to arias by the composer. "For this recital I wanted to choose a selection of arias from less well-known operas. I’ve been performing some of them for many years now and I felt ready to record them with my ensemble, Artaserse," he says. | |

| Lucienne Renaudin Vary | | Out 13 October. The 18-year-old French trumpet virtuoso Lucienne Renaudin Vary is the only musician ever accepted in the Paris Conservatoire's Classical and Jazz programs concurrently. On her debut album she presents the voice of the trumpet as you’ve never heard it before in arias, jazz standards and Broadway favourites: Lucienne plays it all with panache, alongside her guests (including trumpeter Erik Truffaz and tenor Rolando Villazón) and the Orchestre National de Lille. | |

| Quella fiamma: Arie Antiche
|
| Out 27 October. The Arie Antiche compiled by Alessandro Parisotti are known to each and every student of classical singing. But with Quella fiamma, contralto-conductor Nathalie Stutzmann and Orfeo 55 breathe new fire into this primer for the voice, performing these songs and arias with the original Baroque orchestrations, as they would have been heard in their day. Before they were lessons, they were high art. Stutzmann brings unique depth and insights to this beguiling collection. | |

| | Zuzana Růžičková
| Bach: Complete Keyboard Works
|
| 20CD box set. It is with great sadness that we learned of the passing of formidable Czech harpsichordist Zuzana Růžičková last week. Having survived three Nazi camps and the Communist regime in Czechoslovakia, she attributed her extraordinary willpower and faith to music, in particular the music of Bach. Zuzana was the first musician ever to record the complete Bach works for keyboard, which were reissued in a 90th birthday edition this year. | |

| | RIOPY
| | French composer-pianist RIOPY began to teach himself the piano at an early age when he gained access to an abandoned instrument. Without any printed scores, he simply began to compose music in his head. Moving to London at the age of 21 and playing in clubs to make a living, he continued to develop his rhythmically-driven, almost trance-like style of performing his own atmospheric piano compositions. He was soon discovered by the piano firm Steinway & Sons, who have since named him a Young Steinway Artist. RIOPY's debut EP On a cloud is intimist, soaring piano minimalism at its most compelling.
