This is my wife, Lisa. She's quiet and shy, but don’t let that fool you — she’s an activist in her own unassuming, powerful way. You won’t see her out in the streets holding a sign or shouting with the crowds. Instead, you’ll find her in a palliative care home, helping people die with dignity and grace, while offering strength and comfort to their families and friends. Everyone in her care calls her an angel. And she is — almost invisible, yet always delivering help, hope, and peace in ways that truly matter. Lisa is undoutbably an Activist in my eyes and in the eyes of many. Wouldn’t you agree? A Final Thought However your activism shows up — loud or quiet, public or personal — it matters. Take a moment today to reflect on the kind of activist you are, and how you might take one small step in that direction. I’d love to hear which kind of activist you see yourself as. Even if you’re not so sure just yet, by the end of the series I have a feeling that you will be pulled in one direction or another. In my next email I’ll dive into different forms of activism in practice. I promise you, it’s not as daunting as you think it is. I am here to walk beside you on this journey — I REALLY can’t wait. Much love my friend, David |
