One reason why Ohio and the nation has embraced the Dayton Air Show for 50 years is the vivid coverage of the event summer after summer by dozens of writers, photographers and broadcasters, many of whom came from across the world to cover the show.
âWe do a lot of planning, and we make sure we have plenty of law enforcement here, but â knock on wood â weâve had very few incidents where they needed to be here, but we have them if we need them,â says Mike Etter, security director for the CenterPoint Energy Dayton Air Show.
The Montgomery County Fair has a long history in the Gem City. The first fair was held in 1839 at Swayniesâs wagon yard on East First and Race streets before it found its longtime home on Main Street up until 2017.
