In jeopardy: Lawmakers took their first votes on what would be the biggest change to Michigan’s abortion laws since citizens passed Prop 3. But one Democrat’s surprise ‘no’ votes in committee Wednesday could impact proposed major repeals of abortion restrictions in the future. A different look: The Michigan Republican Party’s Mackinac Leadership Conference once was an event with national political significance: an important campaign stop for Republicans seeking the White House and an early proving ground gubernatorial candidates. Michigan ranks high for electric vehicles jobs, but low for sales |
