The series highlights passionate home cooks who are all vying for the honor of having their winning recipe featured on the cover of the show’s signature cookbook. Over six delicious episodes, contestants prepare a variety of dishes that represent their family traditions and cultural styles, each hoping to gain praise from the Michelin-star chefs who serve as judges. The 20th season is heading to the Monterey Bay area! The first episode takes diners to Seaside’s The Meatery Butchery & Eatery to enjoy an 18-hour smoked brisket and juicy pastrami Reubens. Then it’s off to Hanloh Thai Food in Santa Cruz for double-fried chicken thighs of gai tod hat yai. Lastly, guests head to Schooners Monterey to feast on cioppino brimming with shellfish in saffron-tomato broth and fresh Dungeness crab BLT rolls. Take a bite out of all three new episodes on Thursday, July 10, Thursday, July 17 and Thursday, July 24, at 7:30pm on KQED 9.

What Is That Massive Tunnel on the Beach South of Fort Funston? The beach just south of Fort Funston looks like many in Northern California.
