Get a Taste of The Great American Recipe

A fan favorite, The Great American Recipe is a friendly cooking competition that follows in the footsteps of The Great British Baking Show. The series highlights passionate home cooks who are all vying for the honor of having their winning recipe featured on the cover of the show’s signature cookbook. Over six delicious episodes, contestants prepare a variety of dishes that represent their family traditions and cultural styles, each hoping to gain praise from the Michelin-star chefs who serve as judges. Season 4 serves up a whole new bounty of flavors, so be sure to get a taste of the premiere on Friday, July 11, at 9pm on KQED 9. Or stream it with KQED Passport or on the PBS App.

Passport Pick: The Madame Blanc Mysteries, Season 2

One of the most popular series on Passport, The Madame Blanc Mysteries has been a fan favorite since it premiered last year. Season 2 continues to follow widowed antiques dealer Jean White, who is embracing her new life in France while keeping up her knack for solving mysteries. The premiere brings a bit of Christmas in July with a holiday special and a murder case that hits Jean close to home. KQED Passport members get early access to Season 2 on July 1.

What's Happening at KQED

Check, Please! Bay Area in Monterey Bay

The 20th season is heading to the Monterey Bay area! The first episode takes diners to Seaside’s The Meatery Butchery & Eatery to enjoy an 18-hour smoked brisket and juicy pastrami Reubens. Then it’s off to Hanloh Thai Food in Santa Cruz for double-fried chicken thighs of gai tod hat yai. Lastly, guests head to Schooners Monterey to feast on cioppino brimming with shellfish in saffron-tomato broth and fresh Dungeness crab BLT rolls. Take a bite out of all three new episodes on Thursday, July 10, Thursday, July 17 and Thursday, July 24, at 7:30pm on KQED 9.
