Michigan is a state that is literally defined by water. But for the entire Great Lakes region, and the world beyond, the shape of our future is defined by water as well. Our dear friend, astronaut Jerry Linenger, captured this in his photograph from Space Station Mir. Circle of Blue captures the same view in its tenacious exploration of water around the globe, and its sharp focus on our homewaters: the Great Lakes Basin.
