"Giving You All My Love" Octopus
By attosa
This is a fun, all-ages octopus craft made from a toilet paper tube. It's got so many arms, it wants to give you all the love it can carry! This would be great to give to a Valentine. You can fill it up with a bag of sweets, if you like.

A popular theme in early grades is community helpers. Students learn about fire fighters, police officers, nurses, doctors, vets, teachers, farmers, and a few others. A favorite in my class one year was the doctor's medical bag. The bags are simple to make and are fun for kids to role play with.

My little cousin's 4th birthday is this week. She has a crown her mom bought her, but she wanted a sash to go with her crown. Since it was last minute, I used some items I had at home to create her this quick and easy little sash she can wear to school with her crown.

Oh so cute little pompom slippers that are oh so easy to make using easy to find craft supplies. Young teenagers would love to make these. And they are a brilliant idea to scatter around the table for a decoration at a baby shower.

Adding Ribbon Flair To Planters
By Ana
I love using ribbon or fabric strips to dress up planters and pots. The ribbon with wire holds up the best and if outside in the elements, it keeps its shape and color. This look gives any basic pot, planter, or even a window box, that final jewelry accessory to your planting outfit.

Our kids are inundated with electronic toys these days and it is so important to encourage imaginative play. My husband recently had some pieces of leftover wood from a project. He cut them into varies sizes and sanded them so our son could play with them.

The idea for these came to me a couple years ago. It was Christmas time, and like many college students, I had no money to buy gifts. What I did have was an old notebook from the end of the semester with a heavy backing. I also had a hole-punch, a few simple craft supplies, and patience!

Recycled Fabric Latch Hook Rug
By Monica
I made a rug from a less-than-lovely knitted throw and some old t-shirts. Everything is machine washable, and I didn't have to run out and get rug canvas. I cut the t-shirts into small 1 inch wide and 3 inch long strips and created a latch hook rug.

With just about any frame that has wide edges, you can make a beautiful frame from fabric and scrap embellishments. You can leave the frame "photo less" if you think someone would like to put in their own family member.

I had a painting I wanted to enter in a local contest, but no frame that actually fit it correctly. After checking multiple stores for the right size mat and finding that I would need to have one custom ($$Cha-Ching) made for that size, I decided to improvise. Check it out!
