Good morning and happy Mardi Gras! Here are some of today's top headlines. Gusty Gras: After a gorgeous Carnival weekend that boasted sunshine, clear skies and spring-like temperatures, Mother Nature — in the true spirit of 2025 — has turned on us. High winds that forecasters and city officials warn could topple port-a-potties, tents and other supplies often seen out at parade routes have the potential to derail the city's usual Fat Tuesday plans. Mike Smith has the latest on what to expect. Pirates! In an attempt to draw high-dollar visitors, New Orleans' tourism marketing agency is trying something new: sponsoring a Broadway musical that debuts next month in New York City. Stephanie Riegel found out why agency leaders think a pirate-themed play will help draw visitors to the Crescent City. 'Getting out of hand': Tennessee resident Mark Lambert was watching Sunday's Thoth parade at the corner of St. Joseph Street and St. Charles Avenue when a rider threw him beads emblazoned with Confederate flags.
