Gusty Gras: After a gorgeous Carnival weekend that boasted sunshine, clear skies and spring-like temperatures, Mother Nature — in the true spirit of 2025 — has turned on us. High winds that forecasters and city officials warn could topple port-a-potties, tents and other supplies often seen out at parade routes have the potential to derail the city's usual Fat Tuesday plans. Pirates! In an attempt to draw high-dollar visitors, New Orleans' tourism marketing agency is trying something new: sponsoring a Broadway musical that debuts next month in New York City. Stephanie Riegel found out why agency leaders think a pirate-themed play will help draw visitors to the Crescent City.
'Getting out of hand': Tennessee resident Mark Lambert was watching Sunday's Thoth parade at the corner of St. Joseph Street and St. Charles Avenue when a rider threw him beads emblazoned with Confederate flags. Since then, two members have been removed from the all-male krewe over the throws. Joni Hess has the details.
