Enrichment@CAM (Ages 8-12) Starts Wednesday, September 23 at 3 PM
Looking for an after-school art experience for your children? Check out CAM’s new virtual youth class Enrichment@CAM for ages 8-12, taught by Georgia Mastroeini and September Krueger.
Each session looks closely at current exhibitions and works from CAM’s permanent collection to address a variety of themes, including: diverse voices, shapes and patterns, the NC landscape, civil rights, and civic engagement. This class allows for inquiry and discussion of the art and artists, and is aligned with North Carolina standards. Students will explore a variety of media and meet past and present artists throughout the class.
About the Instructors: Georgia Mastroieni, Director of Youth and Family Programs, has been an educator at the Cameron Art Museum since 2007. She has also been an art instructor at DREAMs Center for Arts Education, SOLA School for the Arts and the Clermont State Historic Site in Upstate NY. She has a BA in art history from Bard College.
September Krueger is the Director of Lifelong Learning at the CAM. She has taught a variety of studio classes and art history courses in higher education, and has worked with youth as a teaching artist in our public schools. Her primary medium is textiles, and she holds an MFA in Textiles from ECU.

Write a Spooky Story (Ages 8-12) Starts Thursday, September 24 at 3:30 PM
Do you enjoy scary stories? Want to write your own? Learn about character development, setting, and plot in this fun and spooky virtual class taught by Heather Wilson. Then, celebrate this Halloween season by submitting your own spooky short story or poem to CAM for publication in Night at the Haunted Art Museum: Spooky Stories from the CAM Community.
About the Instructor: Heather Wilson, Deputy Director, has a MFA in Creative Writing and has taught writing to adults and children. She has a background in the publishing industry and worked for Houghton Mifflin Company and was an editor for Ecotone and Chautauqua. |

Virtual Saturday Sampler: Family Focus Saturday, September 26 at 10 AM
Gather together with Ms. Georgia for a family event with Music Bird Studios! Music Bird Studios is excited to join Cameron Art Museum again for a Saturday filled with music, movement, and art! Is the music "lively" or "lyrical"? What animal would move to the song? How can we make our paintbrushes "dance" to the music? All of that and more! Kids (and parents) are sure to get a musical workout with Miss Dara! |
