Dear John,
Heard the news on the jungle grapevine?
There's a big cat on the loose called Clay Calloway - animated rock-legend lion, no less - who's set to star in the new blockbuster movie Sing 2, and who sounds remarkably like Bono …
And, sing it from the rooftops, U2 have written a brand-new track for the film, 'Your Song Saved My Life' and you can listen to it here! And here’s the Official Lyric Video.
The film arrives in the US on December 22, and the 'Original Motion Picture Soundtrack' comes out the week before with a generous helping of U2. The soundtrack opens with 'Your Song Saved My Life', and also has three U2 covers performed by members of the cast.
Bono (sorry, Clay) duets with Scarlett Johansson on 'I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For'. Johansson also sings 'Stuck in a Moment You Can't Get Out Of' as a solo, and features alongside Tori Kelly, Reese Witherspoon, Nick Kroll and Taron Egerton on 'Where the Streets Have No Name'.
Elsewhere, in a busy week, U2 also went 'live' on TikTok, and you can follow the band here. The debut TikTok video celebrates 'Your Song Saved My Life' with artwork by Bono.
And as this month marks 30 years since 'Achtung Baby', expect some unearthed archive footage to appear '@U2' before long, drawn from live performances across the decades …
We'll be marking the anniversary of 'Achtung Baby' throughout the month. So keep a close ear to the ground at U2.com for breaking news.
November's set to sing! Best wishes,
The U2.com Team
