The Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble Hospital are on the hunt for over 100 extra cleaners to bolster their numbers in the continuing fight against Covid-19.
View email online | | | | | Nov 12, 2020 | | | | | | Good evening, We all want to be positive about the discovery of a vaccine which appears to work against Covid-19. After all, which of us does not long for the days when we had never heard of coronavirus; when we could go to the shops without a mask, head down to the pub without worrying that someone on the next table was carrying a potentially deadly condition and even head off on holiday without a care in the world. That was less than a year ago. How things have changed in a short time! And while the vaccine does hold hope, it will not take us back to those halcyon days any time soon. At the moment we don’t know how long immunity might last, what might be any long term side-effects or even how many times we will all need to be injected before we have the herd immunity we are all looking for. So, we are right to be cautious. There are still many unanswered questions. But for those who are the most vulnerable, it may well offer a chance to resume their lives with at least some confidence. For now, that will probably have to be enough. Regards, Gillian Parkinson Editor P.S I'm always happy to hear from you.
