Dear Reader, Over the past two decades, I’ve met thousands of people who find themselves in a new role called caregiver, or care partner. Some of them find the strength, resilience and resources to overcome many of the extraordinary challenges they face. For most, however, this is not the case, and they feel alone, overwhelmed and unprepared for this new role. Without a doubt, the dementia caregiving experience is emotionally volatile, is physically exhausting and can last a long time. Day to Day Living with Dementia will provide research-backed strategies that I apply to my work every day. Inside you will find the following and more: Acknowledge and work through difficult emotions Find helpful resources for practical and emotional support Understand what someone with dementia may be thinking and feeling Learn techniques for coping with common caregiver challenges Find ways to care for yourself There is no one right way to provide care and support to a person living with dementia, and there are no easy answers. My hope is that Day to Day Living with Dementia helps shape an attitude and an approach to dementia care, and selfcare, that can help in the months and years ahead. | Order now | Yours in good health, Angela M.
