Nothing Is Distant from God

woman looking into the distance

The heart is the place of intimacy with God. The fire of love in the human heart is to be enkindled not only by our desire for God but by our willingness to offer God every aspect of our lives, that is, every aspect of our humanity, including the struggles, pains, hurts and rejections of our lives. Nothing about our lives is too distant from God. No corner of our lives is foreign to God. Rather, God has entered into the darkness of every human heart and has loved us in the midst of pain and rejection. This is the meaning of the cross and its significance for our relationship with God.
