‘Record productivity is our aim’: DFLers hit the gas on top issues

As they enter the second month of the legislative session this week, Democrats at the Capitol say they're ready to keep the pedal to the metal. And given their current rate of moving bills, they’re on track to hit that record productivity target, at least in terms of recent history.

“We’re moving fast, but we’re addressing that concern that Minnesotans have raised for as long as I’ve been here, that they don’t want the Legislature to cram everything in the last five weeks,” Hortman told reporters. “The more we do now, the less we have to do in April and May.”

New Warroad campus teaches robot maintenance as worker shortage continues

Northwestern Minnesota manufacturing companies are struggling with worker shortages. One solution is to invest in more automation technology. To help train the skilled workers needed to run that technology, Minnesota’s newest college campus is now open in Warroad.

About 300 protesters marched around the Minnesota Governor’s Residence in St. Paul two days after a video was released showing Tyre Nichols being fatally beaten by Memphis, Tenn., police.
