| | Paid family leave, âlast chanceâ at bonding bill in Senate today | The Minnesota Senate on Monday is set to debate a proposal to create a statewide paid family and medical leave program. Another proposal to spend $1.9 billion for capital projects could take key steps forward there â or pave the way for a more partisan path this year. With just two weeks left to wrap up their business, lawmakers will work around the clock this week to finish massive budget bills. Over the weekend, some conference committees met to try to finalize their proposals. And bills spanning agriculture, environment, commerce and veterans affairs appeared poised for passage in the Senate and House of Representatives. | |

The suspected shooter is also dead. Deputy Kaitie Leising, 29, is the fourth law enforcement officer in the region to be fatally shot while responding to calls in the past month. No Mow May?
