| Coming up on Morning Edition | The final weekend of the Minnesota State Fair is upon us. The Great Minnesota Get-Together ends its 12-day run on Labor Day. So far, the 2024 fair has been marked by up-and-down weather and up-and-down attendance numbers . Reporter Estelle Timar-Wilcox was at the fair Thursday ahead of the storms, and she joins host Cathy Wurzer with the highlights, news-making moments and what's still in store for the fair's final days this year. The presidential campaign was on Minnesota’s doorstep last night. Former President Donald Trump held a town hall just across the Mississippi River in La Crosse, Wis. It came as the Democratic ticket of Kamala Harris and Tim Walz sat for their first major media interview. Trump reacted to snippets that aired before his event began. Clay Masters has the happenings in Wisconsin. And in that first sit-down interview since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee, Harris was asked about changes over time to some of her policy positions. She said: "The most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed.” We'll hear more on Harris’ first interview since President Biden dropped out of the race. |
