And the triple major at the College of St. Scholastica took just one day off after final exams before hitting the water. Back home now, Cale joins us to talk about what motivated his solo trek. And you probably saw that incredible video last week of water surging around the Rapidan Dam near Mankato. The partial failure renewed concerns about the safety of Minnesota's aging dams. Kirsti Marohn reports that a growing number of communities are switching to rock rapids and allowing rivers to flow more freely.

Seniors at Episcopal Homes learn about the art of graffiti with new mural | Residents of a senior housing facility in St. Paul took an interest in the art of graffiti after classes were offered by Twin Cities graffiti artist Peyton Scott Russell. He is known for his 12-foot mural of George Floyd he created for George Floyd Square in 2020. Not every resident took to graffiti at first. Many of them come from a generation where graffiti was viewed as vandalism. Residents expressed that they see the beauty in it and try to find the deeper meanings now. | |

| | Minneapolis electronic dance community grieves beloved DJ found dead in Olmsted County | Liara Tsai, who was found dead on June 22, will be remembered by her friends and loved ones as a talented DJ who wanted to make Minneapolis her home. For the past two years she has played at underground house shows across the city and at events held by Intellephunk, one of the biggest promoters in the local electronic dance scene. She even had recently become a crisis counselor for Intellephunk. | |
