| | Edwards scores 40 points and Timberwolves outlast Suns 122-116 to finish first-round sweep | Anthony Edwards scored 40 points, Karl-Anthony Towns added 28 and the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away late to beat the Phoenix Suns 122-116 on Sunday night and sweep the first-round playoff series. Edwards scored 31 of his points in the second half and finished 13 of 23 from the field, including 7 of 13 from 3-point range. Continuing his ascent into superstardom, the 22-year-old threw down a powerful, one-handed jam to give Minnesota a 115-111 lead with 2:14 left. The Wolves now wait to see if they will face the Denver Nuggets or Los Angeles Lakers in the second round. | |

| | Sen. Nicole Mitchell barred from committee, caucus meetings after arrest | Senate DFL leaders announced Sunday that Sen. Nicole Mitchell would be relieved of her committee assignments and would not caucus with DFL lawmakers while her burglary case proceeds in the courts. Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy, DFL-St. Paul, said in a statement that the situation is “tragic” and questions remained unanswered, but she stopped short of blocking Mitchell from participating in floor votes. | |

| | Republicans endorse Tayler Rahm to challenge incumbent Angie Craig for Congress | Delegates to Minnesota’s 2nd District Republican convention Saturday endorsed criminal defense attorney Tayler Rahm to run against three-term DFL Representative Angie Craig. The endorsement will work in Rahm’s favor, but he’s not guaranteed the GOP spot on the November ballot in the race against Craig. That’s because former federal prosecutor Joe Teirab recently reneged on his pledge to honor the endorsement and drop out if he didn’t win it.

| What else we're watching: | No Republican endorsement in the 7th Congressional District. Republican delegates in Minnesota’s 7th Congressional District failed to endorse a candidate Saturday. Delegates to the 3rd Congressional District convention endorsed Tad Jude Saturday. DNA tests help monitor for honeybee disease. A DNA testing and research center in Fargo is expanding DNA testing for pathogens in honey bees. The genetic testing can provide early detection and help monitor the prevalence of disease in bees. Cipolle and Max Sparber discuss “Keith Haring: Art Is for Everybody” at the Walker Art Center, highlighting Haring’s unique blend of graffiti and high culture, iconic collaborations and his enduring influence. Maya Moore and Seimone Augustus headline Women's Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Moore and Augustus helped the Lynx win four WNBA championships in their time with the team, and they gave the ceremony a huge Minnesota feel. Quiet currents, cultural shifts: Arab and North African artists find a hub in Minnesota. Kathryn Haddad, a writer and community organizer in Minnesota, has significantly influenced the local art scene by fostering a supportive environment for Middle Eastern and North African artists. PWHL Minnesota attracts 6,880 fans per game (so far) in inaugural season. Crowds were larger than expected in the inaugural season of the professional women’s hockey league. “I was hoping we’d get 3,000 each game,” said Natalie Darwitz, PWHL Minnesota general manager. “I was thinking I’d be really, really happy if that happened.” Fond du Lac Band receives funding to help restore tip of Wisconsin Point.
