Coming up on Morning Edition: Oral fluid test tools are set to be rolled out this month as part of a pilot project to test for impaired driving. Initial roadside tests will be able to detect THC, cocaine, opioids, amphetamine, methamphetamine and benzodiazepines. The results can't be used in prosecutions yet, but it is part of the preparations around enforcement as legal marijuana use grows. Hear more on Morning Edition.

| The State of Women's Hockey: Minnesota wins 3-0 in PWHL home opener

The announced attendance for Saturday’s game, which Minnesota won by a score of 3-0 over Montreal, was 13,316, a record for the most people ever to attend a professional women’s hockey game, according to the PWHL.
“Living in the State of Hockey, I knew our fans would show up for us, but today they have taken it to a whole new level,” said Natalie Darwitz, PWHL Minnesota General Manager. “I feel tremendously proud and inspired by our fan support.” | |

PWHL Minnesota's Grace Zumwinkle reflects on hat trick in home opener. The former University of Minnesota star scored the Professional Women’s Hockey League’s first hat trick on Saturday at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
House Speaker Mike Johnson on Saturday invited President Joe Biden to address a joint session of Congress on March 7. Johnson said the country faces a "moment of great challenge." It would be Johnson's first time to sit behind the president as speaker during a joint session. Congress faces two government funding deadlines, Jan. 19 and Feb. 2, as well as calls by the president to provide military aid to Ukraine and Israel.
Cities with soda taxes saw sales of sugary drinks fall as prices rose, study finds. Soda taxes are meant to discourage people from drinking too much sugar, which is linked to a host of bad health outcomes. Cities that imposed the taxes saw a 33 percent decrease in the sale of sugary drinks.
Blinken meets Jordan's king on Mideast mission to prevent Gaza war from spreading. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken met Sunday with Jordan's king as he pressed ahead with an urgent Middle East diplomatic mission to prevent Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza from spreading.
The Pentagon's 2nd in command was not informed of defense secretary's hospitalization. The No. 2 official at the Pentagon was kept in the dark about Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's hospitalization even after she was filling in for him, according to a senior defense official.
