A former Minneapolis police officer who assaulted a man during the 2020 riots faces sentencing Monday. Justin Stetson admitted to punching and kicking Jaleel Stallings, who fired his pistol at an unmarked van, but surrendered as soon has he realized that police were inside.

“It's easy to sleep in an extra hour, most of us can do that really easily, but it's not as easy to change the time that we go to bed. And so we tend to see a little bit of sleep deprivation as a consequence of that,” said Dr. Andrew Stiehm, a pulmonary and sleep medicine physician at Allina Health.

Sunday morning shooting in St. Cloud kills 1, injures 2 others. Officials are investigating a shooting in St. Cloud early Sunday morning that led to the death of a man and injuring two others.
Public meetings planned on power line between Iron Range, central Minnesota. Minnesota Power and Great River Energy want to build the 180-mile, high-voltage line that would run from the Iron Range to Benton County, then along two different routes to substations near Becker.
Black authors expo uplifts writers, promotes healing through storytelling. The expo started in 2017, first hosted at the NEON building in north Minneapolis. Attendance has quadrupled over the years, according to organizers. Saturday’s event marked its first in-person expo since the start of the pandemic.
Xcel Energy seeks to grow wind energy in southwest Minnesota. The Minneapolis-based utility is asking for proposals for about 1,200 megawatts of new wind projects. That’s enough to power more than 485,000 homes in an average year.
