While I like to think of myself as a strong swimmer (I do several hour-long swim workouts that I call "Phelps Blasts" every week), I'm not the calorie-burning machine that Michael Phelps is. Sadly, even the most active among us have bodies that are programmed very differently than an Olympic athlete's, which unfortunately means we'll feel like garbage if we eat several Phelpsian plates of pancakes with bacon and a 1,000-calorie smoothie every morning.
