I don’t talk about beauty or hair too often in this newsletter, but something life-changing has happened to me: I bought an automatic rotating curling iron, and what used to be an arm ache-inducing chore is now a fun, quick process. I was afraid my hair would get really tangled up in a motorized curling iron, but I’ve now bought both the internet-famous Beachwaver and this rotating option from Amazon (I wanted to try different barrel sizes) and both were shockingly easy and safe to use, once I got the hang of them. If you can’t practice with another human for an upcoming job interview, Google has a new solution: Talk to its computer. The company just launched an artificial intelligence-powered job interview prep tool called Interview Warmup that asks you common interview questions and gives feedback on your spoken answers. Google describes it as “a judgment-free zone for anyone who wants a little practice interviewing,” and you should probably try it ASAP. |

Applying sunscreen to the eyelids may feel counterintuitive. All our lives, we’ve been warned against applying many products near the eye area, and it has clearly stuck with many of us. But “there are a few places that are really not fun to have skin cancer surgery, and the area around the eye is definitely one of them,” said Dr. Papri Sarkar, a dermatologist in Newton, Massachusetts.
