Dear John,

During the past month you've probably given some thought to making changes for 2018.

Most people take the flipping of a calendar page as a time to make adjustments in their lives.

You can put those changes into one of three buckets:

Let's face it, who doesn't want to make more money, become more fit, and master a new skill?

We are only 3 days into 2018 and 90% of people who set resolutions when they sipped champagne have already given up.

That's normal. It's human nature.

In fact, even if your life depended upon it, you'd probably lose momentum and abandon a new activity after one month.

Why?

Habit.

Habits are "railroad tracks" in our mind that keep us moving. We develop subconscious mental "tracks" in our brain and when we get busy, we default to running our lives on those tracks.

Throwing the switch to move the train on to a new track requires lots of muscle.

And you can't do it alone.

Few people go to the gym on their own, day-after-day, after a lifetime of sitting on the couch eating potato chips.

However, if you make an appointment to meet a trainer at the gym, you've changed the dynamic.  Now another person is counting on you to arrive and keep a commitment.

After about one month of keeping these meeting commitments, a new habit is developed, and the train is humming along on the new tracks.

But missing just one session in the future will let some resistance creep in.  It weakens the metal of the train track.  A couple of additional missed appointments and the train derails...

...and you go back to the couch and the potato chips.

This happens in my business too.

People work with me to make changes in their business habits.  They develop great "relationship development muscles" and they have success - sometimes huge success.

We install new habits - like sending out frequent email newsletters, delivering regular presentations to valuable referral sources, and leveraging media to large audiences of ideal clients.

These habits become the shiny new railroad tracks. The train is running smoothly and my client is enjoying his success.

Then he stumbles and decides not to write anymore email newsletters.

Nothing bad happens at first.  He's still making money.  The train is still running smoothly.

And he begins to miss some of his meetings with me.  When we do meet, I ask about the email newsletters.

The client gets angry - at ME.

"Nothing bad happened when I forgot to do the newsletter.  Why is Dave asking about that and making me feel guilty?"

Why?

Because that feeling of guilt is actually ACCOUNTABILITY and that's what helps you push through to the next level.

You don't want to explain why you didn't do the work.

You hate me because I am making you do exactly that.

You have two choices:

1).  Quit and go back to the way things were before you made the resolution

2).  Resolve to get back on track with my help (yeah, I jump start my clients after their motivation stalls)

Achieving your goals is easy.

Getting rich is simple. Develop valuable relationships - habitually. Deliver value to people. Get compensated.

Becoming thin is formulaic: Eat less, exercise more.

Obtaining new skill is basic.  Study. Implement. Debrief. Adjust. Repeat.

Making these things habitual is difficult.

That's why you need help.

If you're ready, this is the time.

Give me a call. I want to help you make those changes.  786.436.1986
