Have you ever heard the old coffee adage that you "drink 8 ounces and pee 12?" Well, there's actually some truth to that. In her reporting for a story about why coffee makes you pee so much, contributor Julie Kendrick found out that coffee's diuretic properties actually make your kidneys pull more fluid from your body than you've just consumed. So if you feel like you're peeing more than you just drank, you may be entirely correct.
Another fun fact, according to Julie: "That short line to the men’s room isn’t only about the patriarchy." It turns out that men can hold more fluid in their bladders, and hold it for longer. Sigh.
