Yes, that hailstorm broke records

It was raining baseballs in parts of the Baton Rouge area Tuesday night — or at least hailstones the size of baseballs.

A National Weather Service meteorologist said Wednesday that one particularly big chunk of ice probably broke the record for our whole weather region. Here are the details, along with some pretty jaw-dropping photos folks took of hailstones that landed near them.


Speaking raining baseballs, LSU won a rematch against Wake Forest to stay alive in the College World series, putting them just steps away from the summit.

Here's how it happened. 


A Sam's Club employee is accused of shooting a co-worker in the parking lot Tuesday night.
