Xander Schauffele has long had the skill to be a major champion, but he turned that potential into his first major title at the PGA Championship in large part because of his power off the tee and stellar iron play. That got us thinking back to the instruction stories that Schauffele wrote for Golf Digest in 2018 and 2022, when he explained how he generates tons of clubhead speed as a relatively small guy and launches his irons straight up in the air. Working diligently on these fundamentals led to Schauffele’s maiden major win, and his advice remains as practical for golfers today as it was when he first gave it. |
