WashU Tune-Ups Support Local Youth Bike Program

Among the organizations the Office of Sustainability partners with is St. Louis BWorks, a nonprofit whose mission is to empower local youth through experiential learning. While our partnership started through a Bike Tune-Up event where BWorks mechanics displayed bike prowess, a friendship was forged as we discovered shared goals in sustainability, youth education, and a commitment to the St. Louis region. This past fall, the funds earned by BWorks for their services at our latest tune-up gave WashU the opportunity to sponsor one of BWorks’ Earn-A-Bike classes. More>>

WUSM Compost Pilot
A pilot compost collection program kicks off Feb 1 at the Medical Campus. Diners at Shell and Farmstead will be able to sort their waste into compost, recycle, and landfill. All are invited to volunteer to help train diners. More>>
Business School Expands Program
Last semester, the Olin School of Business added compost collection at Bauer Cafe. To streamline sorting and reduce contamination, they switched all disposable serviceware to compostable products as of Jan 2023.  More>>
