World Teachers' Day Celebrate the teachers in your lives by wishing them a Happy World Teachers’ Day on October 5! Ontario’s teachers inspire greatness in students by demonstrating care, trust, respect and integrity every day. Read about some of Ontario’s most famous students, including Matt Galloway, Marci Ien and Yann Marteland the teachers who inspired them. |
| | Who’s your child’s teacher? Your child likely has a new teacher this year. Did you know you can search our public register, Find a Teacher, to see the qualifications of Ontario’s certified teachers? The College Council grants the Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation to qualified, competent members in good standing only. |

Responding to bullying The College has new advice for Ontario teachers on Responding to the Bullying of Students. The publication — suggested by parents — provides a model to help teachers identify the signs of bullying and intervene early to stop it. |
| | Attend our conference Plan now to attend the College’s Inspiring Public Confidence Conference from May 31 to June 1, 2018, in Toronto. Mental health advocate Margaret Trudeau and social commentator Rex Murphy will headline the event, which will include English and French workshops on regulatory and education-related topics. |

Celebrating great teaching The College sets the standards of practice and the ethical standards for Ontario’s teaching profession. See how principal Andrea Taylor, OCT, helped to transform a misunderstood high school into a force to be reckoned with. |
| | Myth or Fact? Only classroom teachers are members of the College. Myth! Fact: The majority of College members are classroom teachers but vice-principals, principals, supervisory officers, directors of education, among other roles, must also be certified teachers to holdtheir positions. |
