Walsh highlights job training in Connecticut

Secretary of Labor Marty Walsh joined Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont and Rep. Joe Courtney to highlight the state’s recruitment and job training efforts and announced a major new initiative to strengthen the state’s ability to connect workers to good-paying jobs, including jobs associated with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The effort aligns with the Good Jobs Initiative, a department-led initiative to improve job quality and job equity across the country.

In Puerto Rico, Deputy Secretary Su advances economic dialogue

In Puerto Rico this week, Deputy Secretary of Labor Julie Su met with Gov. Pedro Pierluisi and other workforce leaders and stakeholders to discuss how the department can align systems, strengthen partnerships and leverage resources to connect workers to good jobs.

Expanding and formalizing standards for Registered Apprenticeships

This week we marked the 85th anniversary of the National Apprenticeship Act by announcing several initiatives designed to expand Registered Apprenticeships. We launched the “ApprenticeshipUSA” brand to establish a shared understanding of the national Registered Apprenticeship system. We also opened an online dialogue on the future of Registered Apprenticeship.

OSHA proposes nearly $1.3 million in penalties for Dollar General

Since 2017, OSHA has proposed more than $6.5 million in penalties after 78 inspections at Dollar General locations nationwide, including $1.29 million in penalties proposed following three recent inspections in Georgia that uncovered more violations. 

New programs added to the Justice40 Initiative
