Happy Monday and welcome to the first day of school holidays and the end of home-schooling for many over-taxed parents here in Lancashire.

Even Joe Wicks is tired and declaring PE is done and school's out for summer - although the weather is not quite agreeing just yet.

It feels very strange for many and the start of a new Covid-19 chapter, with lockdown easing further when gyms finally open their doors on Saturday. Keep an eye on lep.co.uk for all the details as we follow that story.

Understandably we are all focusing on escaping the house and getting away, with this weekend's most-read stories on the subject of staycations, particularly the array of options right here in lovely Lancs itself.

But as we plan socially-distanced holidays, the news continues.

Today we bring you news production of face coverings has begun at a Lancashire site as part of a £14m government investment, the story of the mosque in semi-detached Preston house that could be closed down and Preston's anti-social behaviour hotspots.

Plus, to bring a smile to your face, the three generations of one family all working together at the Royal Preston Hospital!

Many thanks for your continued support. If you would like to subscribe to the website click HERE

Enjoy the start to your week, Nicola Adam, deputy editor
