| | Losing the Thread? I don't know about all of you, but I've been struggling to transition from Twitter (or X, whatever it's called now) to Threads. Apparently, I'm not alone: A recent Reuters article reported that half of Threads' initial users have already abandoned the app, according to some insider information from a meeting with Meta's employees. Meta is desperately searching for ways to retain Threads users after such a massive drop-off within weeks of the app's launch. Having worked as a communications manager in Baltimore, I can relate to this challenge, as engaging people with posts and newsletters, or getting them to stay subscribed, can feel like an uphill battle. Speaking of cleanup, I definitely need to tackle my overflowing personal email inbox soon. But let's get back to the topic of Threads. One of the reasons I haven't fully embraced it is because nearly a thousand people immediately followed me over to the app when it first launched, making it less private than my hidden Twitter account, where I don't allow just anyone to follow me. However, some of you might know that I do have a reporter Twitter. To be honest, I'm not surprised to hear that Threads lost half of its users. But for me, as a writer, I appreciate the text-based nature of the app. What do you all think about Threads?
