Good morning, everyone, and welcome to Tuesday, Day One of the 2025 SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Alabama. Yes, it's true what you've heard: this is now a full 16-team tournament being played the entire way through in a single-elimination format. It's pretty much exactly like the SEC softball tourney, except in softball the SEC has only 15 teams. Vanderbilt doesn't field a softball team, but it's Vandy, so it's hard to tell (rim shot). Before the festivities begin in suburban Birmingham, the SEC released its All-SEC coaches team. We've got the full list for you, so you can see which Tigers made the first-, second-, or all-freshman teams (Hint: Seven Tigers made it in all). LSU, which retained the top spot in the four major national polls for the second straight week, isn't playing in the SEC Tournament until Friday night. The Tigers will be the last team to compete given that they earned a double bye as the No. 3 seed. As such, it's a pretty light slate of LSU sports here early in the week. The LSU women's golf team wrapped up its season with a respectable 10th-place finish in the NCAA Championships out in Carlsbad, California, just missing match play for the second straight season by two strokes. The being in Carlsbad, just north of San Diego, probably helps take the sting out of it just a little bit. That's all for today, folks. Be sure to follow our coverage all week from Hoover.
