The Lunch Line: Wind power is drawing Louisiana's offshore firms; saying 'thanks' to Drew Brees

By Jerry DiColo

WIND: Cajun ingenuity built Louisiana's offshore oil & gas industry, and as the world begins a transition from fossil fuels to renewables, the same spirit is contributing to the burgeoning offshore wind industry. The Times-Picayune on Wednesday began a four-part series on how Louisiana's shipbuilders, lift-boat captains, welders and other vital parts of the Gulf of Mexico oil industry are finding ways to grow in wind.

BREES REFLECTS: Drew Brees will be back in the Caesars Superdome on Thanksgiving as the Saints take on the Buffalo Bills, calling the game for NBC and also appearing during a halftime event. Ahead of the homecoming, Brees spoke to Saints reporter Amie Just to reflect on his return.

'MISS SHIRLEY' RETIRES: For 40 years, Shirley Lee was the heart and soul of Royal China Restaurant in Metairie. But now, she's retiring. Ian McNulty looks in on a hidden gem and the proprietress who made customers feel like family.
