But as infamous as the laptop is, it may ultimately be Hunter Biden’s own memoir that seals his conviction on charges he lied on a federal form about his drug use history in order to buy a firearm. Prosecutors played an audio clip of the memoir describing his descent into drugs around the time he bought the gun; despite declaring on a federal form he was drug-free. Biden’s trial comes less than a week after former President Trump was convicted of 34 felony counts in his own New York trial — a result many Republicans are calling a sham. The Biden and Trump families’ legal woes come as polls show majorities of voters even in their own party may be souring on them. A Reuters/Ipsos poll of 1,250 Americans showed that even among Democrats, over half considered Biden should not seek re-election. And 55% of Republicans said Trump should be sentenced to prison if he broke the law. Against this backdrop, it’s no surprise a former fund manager’s highly unusual warning over the election outcome has now gone viral. Louis Navellier — a frequent guest at Mar-a-Lago — ruffled many in his own circles when he declared over a year ago that Trump’s conviction was already a foregone conclusion.
