With Super Bowl Weekend almost upon us…

I thought I’d share a few strategies from winning sports teams that you can steal for huge wins in business.

This list is inspired by Rick Crossland, author of a book called The A-Player (which I highly recommend).

Below are 7 reasons why building a Super Bowl team like the Chiefs or Eagles — or really ANY top pro sports team — is like building a million dollar biz.

Both need the following key elements in place:

#1 – Talent Development

One of the greatest football coaches of all time is former Alabama head coach, Nick Saban.

Why?

Because he was also the best recruiter and developer of talent.

This is one of the most underrated aspects of entrepreneurship...

Recruiting. Hiring. Onboarding. Training.

And it’s also one of the hardest and most annoying...

Who wants to interview people, then take time out from your already packed schedule and onboard them properly into your mission and culture, and then train them to do something that you can probably do better than them (at least for the first few months)?

The answer is ... WINNERS, that’s who.

It’s not optional if you want to grow.

But most businesses choose to struggle because they “accept who they have”...

Or because the entrepreneur says those 5 deadly words, “I Will Do It Myself.”

But you must banish the IWDIM disease from your mind.

If you don’t, then your business won’t grow, and...

You’ll get frustrated.

And your team members will get frustrated.

Then you’ll start to stall... and your team members will start wanting a trade (i.e. to quit).

So look at what Saban did nearly every day...

He'd be out there working the phones and working just as hard at recruiting future talent as he did coaching the current talent.

Saban and his peers literally travel across the country and beg teenagers to join their teams.

Likewise... “CEO’s are berserk about great talent,” the author Tom Peters says.

And yet you think you’ll find superstars on Craigslist?

You have to try harder.

#2 – Coaching & Accountability

Just like all entrepreneurs need a coach (that’s my job – I got you!)...

All of your team members need coaching to perform at the highest level.

If you’re enrolled in our Millionaire Mentorship…

You should check out these two videos:

^^ These will help a ton.

And if you simply add them to your business…

You’ll communicate better, your team will perform better, and business will be better.

But it’s not enough just to be a coach...

We’ve all had coaches, instructors, mentors, and teachers that “knew their stuff”, but that didn’t have that deep of an impact...

The missing link that separates GREAT coaches – dynasty builders like the legendary John Wooden – from people that win once (through a combination of luck and talent)...

Comes down to one word:

Accountability.

If you want to be a great performer, you must be accountable to someone you deeply do not want to disappoint!

And if you want to be a great leader...

You must inspire people on your team so that

- They look up to you

- They never want to disappoint you

- And they are willing to do whatever it takes to get a great job done

If your team isn’t doing its job...

Then it’s on YOU... not on them...

It’s not their fault, it’s your fault for not being a better leader.

#3 – Playbooks

Frank Den Blanken, one of the most successful people to ever attend one of my Perfect Life Workshop sessions…

Is obsessed with building “Playbooks” for his team members so they can become high performers fast.

Similarly, my Perfect Life Workshop is the Playbook for building your Dream Life — which is why it worked so well for Frank.

(I no longer host these workshops live, but if interested you can find the digital version here.)

Playbooks are simply another way for saying “systems.”

When you have systems (playbooks), your business generates consistent results.

But average businesses don’t have a playbook... instead, they make stuff up on the go.

Your biz needs playbooks to:

- Generate leads

- Sell your products / services

- Deliver your products & services

- Grow and develop your team members

- Keep customers happy... but also to deal with unhappy customers

- And even to manage your money after you’ve made it

If you don’t have playbooks (or systems), start building them now.

And if you have them, build a playbook to make them better!
