As the country begins to open up — for better or worse — many of us are starting to plan future trips and dream of warmer, brighter days ahead.

Much has been written about “pandemic fatigue” and the mental load of a year (and counting!) of lockdown. One of the things I’m thinking a lot about is the “decision fatigue” that so many parents are experiencing and how it’s becoming even trickier as the country starts to open up. There’s hope, for sure, but it’s draining mental stuff to be a parent who has to make constant, daily decisions that affect the welfare of your family (and carrying the mental load of how it affects your whole community). This piece by my colleague Catherine Pearson speaks to that fatigue, especially at this inflection point in the pandemic. |
