By Drew Broach | Deputy metro editor ABOUT-FACE: The 45th U.S. president had a bit of trouble leaving New Orleans over the weekend. After meeting with Republican donors Saturday night at a private event at the Four Seasons Hotel, Trump boarded a donor's three-engine jet at Lakefront Airport with advisers, a Secret Service detail and support staff and took off for Palm Beach, Florida - only to have the plane suffer engine failure over the Gulf of Mexico and circle back to land at Louis Armstrong International Airport. NOT ENOUGH: Saying the Republican majority in the Louisiana Legislature should have included a district that could allow a second Black candidate a chance to serve in the U.S. Congress, Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards on Wednesday night vetoed the legislation that kept the state’s current congressional makeup. CATCH A CABBAGE: The opportunity to catch a cabbage or swap a smooch for a green carnation will not be reduced this year, as had been feared. The popular Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Parade that takes place Saturday at 1 p.m. will run its entire route protected by a sufficient number of off-duty police officers patrolling the procession.
