Don’t miss your chance to showcase your work at our virtual gathering for internet health.
| Photo by Henry Kenyon | Hello, Why should you bring your work to a virtual MozFest in March 2021 when the world is saturated with thousands of other online meetings and conferences? It’s a valid and important question. At Mozilla, we’re asking ourselves the same question. Since you’ve been to MozFest before, we don’t have to tell you that MozFest is fun, a great place to meet new people, and is an inclusive gathering co-designed with hundreds of people from around the world. So what’s new? Why be a facilitator this year? 1. Your work – whether professional in nature, a personal side project, or anything in between – will reap rewards. The MozFest team is providing additional support to anyone who wants assistance with creating a successful proposal. You’ll have access to expertly crafted on-demand resources, paired with both 1:1 and group coaching from festival staff to improve your virtual facilitation skills, meeting design skills, and confidence to lead an interactive session. 2. Bringing your work back to MozFest (yes, again!) will provide a fresh, new perspective you won't find anywhere else. "MozFest has helped me understand how to accelerate my journey into my field of work. When you meet so many amazing people doing amazing things it’s liberating. It’s the only place where you can find so many people talking about things they are passionate about: governance & tech, how these things can be harmful, how the things we do online convert to real life. These are the convos you don’t find anywhere else." - Pranshu Khanna, Open Source Evangelist 3. We have new and exciting Spaces this year! From AI IRL to Creative AI to hackathons, there are plenty of hands-on opportunities for building new technology with other developers from around the world. And we want you to know: we’re navigating through world crises and personal challenges right along with you. You are not alone in the challenges you face. The festival staff and community organizers are all dealing with our own unexpected personal challenges at home: physical health, self care, homeschooling children while balancing work, missing friends, concern for family. We aren’t executing this festival in isolation from the world. We recognize the challenges and are leaning into our community. There is a place for you to do that with us at MozFest. You’re invited to the front lines of the internet health movement by bringing your work to a global audience during a very challenging time. Are you ready to accept our invitation and propose a session idea? The deadline to submit is November 23. |
