US backs away from proposal on H-1B visa holders awaiting green cards
US Citizenship and Immigration Services has issued a statement saying it isn't considering a regulatory change that would force holders of expiring H-1B visas to leave the US while they wait for green cards. "Even if it were, such a change would not likely result in these H-1B visa holders having to leave the United States because employers could request extensions in one-year increments," the agency said.
