OK, I admit it. When I saw the headline of today’s Leadership & Development story about Gen Zers, I rolled my eyes. “Another bee in the bonnet of this fussy generation,” I thought to myself. “What’s got them hot and bothered this time?” Turns out I was wrong. The story talks about how while many Gen Zers like the flexibility of remote work, they are concerned that they’re missing out on some important benefits of in-person work. Examples of this include mentoring from veteran colleagues and participating in meetings where they could expand their industry knowledge. I can appreciate this perspective. They’re not just interested in the office air hockey tournament (which I would win, by the way). They look at being in the office as a way to advance and enrich their careers. Smart! What do you think? Is that how you saw that article? Or did you have more of a “They are just never satisfied!” perspective? Let me know!
