| Good morning, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Thursday, May 19. It's a slow news period for the team right now. The players are off until next when Organized Team Activities (OTA) resume at the Metairie training complex. Saints coaches, meanwhile, are headed to Las Vegas for their annual retreat. So there's not a lot going on these days at Saints camp. Nevertheless, there is always meat on the bone when it comes to the Saints... I weighed in on the recent Drew Brees/NBC news and how it took a life of its own in New Orleans thanks to his cryptic tweet on Sunday night. Spoiler alert: Brees was kidding about returning to play football! After some digging, I was able to uncover more information about the situation and how it all went down. More importantly, I wanted to tamp down speculation about Brees possibly returning to the Saints. As noted in the column: This is Jameis Winston's team, for better or worse.
