Despite putting on a fantastic show in Las Vegas, the end of Formula 1’s 2023 season can’t come soon enough for many people after a season of unprecedented domination by Max Verstappen and Red Bull.
But on the eve of the Abu Dhabi finale, a classic F1 paddock storm has blown up around Lewis Hamilton and Red Bull. After team boss Christian Horner told a British tabloid newspaper that Hamilton’s camp had reached out to him about a potential seat in 2024, Lewis rebuffed the claim and says it was Horner who texted him first – but to an old phone number.
This is all irrelevant, as Hamilton signed a two-year extension with Mercedes in August, but it’s nice to see that Red Bull still views Merc as a threat, and will do anything that causes some mischief… By: Charles Bradley, Global Editor in Chief Motorsport.com |
