| A simple drill for better iron contact By Corey Krusa, Golf Digest Certified Teacher Krusa Golf Academy, Pennington, NJ | If you find yourself chunking your irons, grab an extra ball to boost your contact. Place a ball down to hit, then take an additional ball and position it down the line, about a grip-length behind the first one. The goal here is to avoid the back ball during your downswing. This forces you to strike the forward ball with a better angle of attack and make ball-first contact. Start small with half or quarter swings to guarantee you miss the back ball, then work your way up to full swings for better contact and consistency. | |
