| 💨 TL;DR | American President Joe Biden and Chinese General Secretary Xi Jinping met yesterday. It went ok. Stocks were up, crypto was up big, oil and treasury yields were down. | 📰 Market Headlines | Biden and Xi faced off: The leaders discussed a range of thorny issues, including military cooperation, climate, Taiwan, wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, fentanyl flows, use of artificial intelligence, and American restrictions on Chinese access to high-end tech. Chinese markets were unimpressed with the lack of progress demonstrated at the meeting with specific emphasis on President Biden “referring to Xi Jinping as a dictator.” The Hang Seng Index was off 1%. JPMorgan is selling government bonds to go long commodities (except gold). The bank also warns “in equities, we retain a defensive stance and are unwilling to chase the past two weeks' rally. Our defensive stance hinges on our expectation that a recession will take place next year.” Citi will start laying off the first of 24,000 workers as part of their poorly-named Project Bora Bora. “No one will be spared: chiefs of staff, managing directors and lower-level employees will all be affected.” Good news for inflation - The PPI, which measures wholesale prices, fell 0.5% in October, against the expected 0.1% increase. That’s the biggest decline in more than three years. | | 🧠 What do you think? | | | 🕶️ Market Vibes | 😱 Fear and Greed Index | | 🎤 What you said | Nearly a third of you are cutting back on spending this year, while only 13% are spending more. |

| | Spending less | “I have no money so can't spend any. My wife cut back my allowance.” | Spending more | “All my debt is paid to date, and has been all this year. I have NO credit debt.” | | Using magnetic fields to treat infections 🧲 | Metallic implants, like joint replacements, are commonplace in modern healthcare. | But you may not realize that up to 3% of orthopedic implants become infected, and these infections can have serious consequences. Treating them usually entails more costly, invasive surgeries. | Enter Solenic Medical, the pioneers in the groundbreaking field of alternating magnetic field therapy for implant infections. Imagine a world where we can eliminate metallic bacterial infections without surgery. | Typically, post-operation infections are challenging to treat because bacteria can form biofilms on the surface of the implant. These biofilms are resistant to antibiotics. Solenic heats up the metal implant using an alternating magnetic field that destroys the biofilm without damaging surrounding tissue. | | Treating an infected implant involves multiple surgeries. It's a lengthy, expensive, and painful process. |
| Solenic's technology, if proven safe and effective, has the potential to redefine the treatment of implant infections. This could be the breakthrough we've been waiting for, dramatically reducing the need for additional surgeries, curbing healthcare costs, and, most importantly, enhancing patient outcomes. | Learn more about Solenic Medical | | SPONSOR |
