Power watch: Entergy said this morning that 378,000 customers around the state are still without electricity, nine days after Hurricane Ida. Many of those homes and businesses still in the dark are in Jefferson Parish and some other hard-hit parishes, although the utility says it has made progress getting folks back online.
FEMA watch: A lot of folks are probably wondering what aid might be available to them following the storm. Here’s a couple of FEMA stories that are drawing a lot of eyeballs this morning. - Help for renters

Business stinks: Your nose ain't lying: A stench has indeed descended over the region. Lion-hearted crews have hit the streets, hauling away rotting garbage and huge piles of debris. Godspeed.
Just go away: Some good news from the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. That tropical whatever steeping down there is expected to steer clear of Louisiana.
Home of the undrafted: The Saints open their season on Sunday against the Packers and we can't wait for the diversion. Columnist Jeff Duncan took a deep look at this season's roster, which leads the league in the number of undrafted free agents.
