John Bel Edwards said he's considering a statewide requirement. Some New Orleans restaurants are going even further, requiring proof of vaccination from customers. The crackdown caps a week in which Louisiana set a record for new infections during the 16-month coronavirus pandemic. New evidence shows the virus' delta variant is as contagious as chickenpox and might be more dangerous than other versions. CHA-CHING! "Who Dat?" wasn't always the chief rallying cry for New Orleans Saints' fans. We've got a look back at the time 30 years ago when the catchphrase "Cha-ching!" - lifted from a Rally's hamburger commercial - could be heard anytime the Saints pulled off a good play. In the present, it was Day 2 of Saints training camp, which means Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston were again trying to impress the coaches enough to be the team's starting quarterback. But it was the first day that fans could watch. NO TIME FOR SERGEANTS: The mayor and the police chief gathered Friday to promote 10 New Orleans police officers to sergeant. Minutes beforehand, however, a judge blocked the elevations so that a police union would have time to argue that the promotion process unfairly rewards who you know, in addition to what you know.
